Hi, looking for someone to teach me very basic conversational Arabic and to help me better understand customs and local culture. Online is fine to start, but I would prefer in-person in the DMV area. I live in DC and would be able to travel to you (within reason) or have you to my apartment for lessons if your home is busy with family or not conducive. I have visited different parts of the Middle East multiple times before and have not been able to have the best experience possible due to the language barrier. I have upcoming travel planned (Egypt, but potentially more) and my hope is to learn more about culture, customs and very basic communication skills from a native speaker of Arabic so that I am more able to enjoy travel and interactions. Because I also hope to learn more about culture, customs and perhaps discuss travel, you must be male and not younger than 21 or older than 50. I need someone with common interest and knowledge to share with me for my age. I am 30. Because my intention is to learn basics of conversation and culture/custom, you do not necessarily have to be a licensed teacher. Trustworthy, honest and willing to teach and share insight with a beginner would be the most important. Compensation could be per session. I imagine I could end up wanting to do more frequently if you are a good teacher and if there is more to learn. Send me a note and we can discuss. Thanks!
